The role
The UNICEF Madagascar is seeking a Volunteer to support the implementation of the First Foods initiative, focusing on nutrition-sensitive food systems for children aged 6-23 months.
What you'll do
- Support program planning, coordination, and execution related to nutrition-sensitive food systems, with a focus on expanding the First Foods initiative.
- Provide technical support to government counterparts, implementing partners, and private sector actors to integrate nutritional objectives into food production, processing, and distribution systems.
- Support the identification, mobilization, and capacity building of local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to develop, produce, and market affordable, safe, and nutritious foods for young children in line with First Foods initiative goals.
- Contribute to the revision, development, and implementation of policies, standards, and regulations promoting nutrition-sensitive food systems, particularly in areas such as food safety, labeling, marketing of foods, fortification of foods for children, and quality assurance mechanisms.
- Support data collection, analysis, and utilization related to food systems and child nutrition, including monitoring progress and impact of the First Foods initiative and regulatory reforms.
