The role

UNICEF is seeking five Community SBC Volunteers to support the Public Health Zones in Benin for a period of three months, focusing on enhancing community engagement and demand generation for vaccination.

What you'll do

  • Support the development and implementation of SBC interventions and community engagement activities
  • Contribute to the implementation and monitoring of communication activities specified in the Communication and Social Behavior Change Strategy (CCSC) for routine vaccination in urban areas
  • Support health platform actors in researching and vaccinating zero-dose and under-immunized children
  • Participate in co-creation sessions for strengthening routine vaccination
  • Document best practices, life stories, and lessons learned from the implementation of CCSC strategy in urban and peri-urban areas

What it takes

  • At least 2 years of experience in planning, implementing, and monitoring communication and community engagement activities for vaccination and community health
  • Experience as a UN Volunteer (benevolat, internship) is highly appreciated
  • Fluency in local languages such as Fon, Mina, Adja

How we treat you

Monthly living allowance of XOF 213,466.66; USD50 entry fee; travel expenses for trips to and from the assignment location (if applicable); medical, dental, and hospital insurance; life and disability insurance within the limits of the policy in force; 2.5 days of accumulated annual leave per month of service; access to UNV learning and professional development resources.
