The role
The United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) is seeking an intern to support sustainable urban development and housing initiatives, with a focus on solid waste management in Luanda, Angola.
What you'll do
- Assist in identifying opportunities within communities and translate problems into project concepts
- Support the preparation of meetings with potential partners and donors
- Support the general implementation of UN-Habitat portfolio and engagement within the UN Cooperation Frameworks
- Track key indicators and monitor their reports and feedback with partners
- Support field work in urban and engineering related components
- Assist in collecting and integrating data
What it takes
- Be enrolled in a graduate school programme, final year of first university degree program or have completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s or Ph.D. Programme
- Fluency in oral and written Portuguese is required; knowledge of English and French is desirable
- Demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals from different cultural backgrounds
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PPT) and Adobe Illustrator, photo and video editing software
