Upper School Math Academic Lead Teacher
The role
The International Rescue Committee is seeking a Math Academic Lead Teacher for its six-week Newcomer Youth Summer Academy in New York City. The successful candidate will design and deliver culturally responsive, trauma-informed math instruction to refugee youth aged 5-21, utilizing sheltered instructional approaches for English Language Learners. Responsibilities include lesson planning, formative and summative assessments, student progress tracking, and collaboration with peer mentors and staff to foster social-emotional growth. The role requires a candidate capable of delivering differentiated instruction within a diverse and community-focused environment.
