The role

UNICEF is seeking a UNV Volunteer Specialist in Community Participation and Accompaniment in Shelters to support direct and systematic presence in shelters for access to services, information dissemination, community participation, and feedback mechanisms.

What you'll do

  • Maintain regular and visible presence in assigned shelters
  • Support the organization of information spaces, orientation, dialogue, and community participation
  • Facilitate individual and group conversations to identify questions, concerns, access barriers, perceptions, rumors, risk practices, and information needs
  • Collect and register comments, suggestions, requests, and complaints through established mechanisms by UNICEF and its partners in coordination with the Accountability to Affected Population team

What it takes

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of three years' experience in community communication, community participation, social mobilization, social work, community accompaniment, refugee management, or related areas
  • Experience working directly with communities, including facilitating meetings, group conversations, information activities, community consultations, or participatory processes
  • Ability to explain technical information clearly and simply, adapting it to different age groups, educational levels, needs, and cultural characteristics
