The role
The Tutor will implement activities in communities and educational institutions in Arauca, Colombia, focusing on children at risk of dropping out of school, and promoting their academic and socio-emotional skills.
What you'll do
- Plan and carry out proposed activities for children, girls, and adolescents in prioritized communities and educational institutions.
- Lead community education processes (children, girls, adolescents, and teachers) in line with team orientations and designed materials.
- Monitor, evaluate, and follow up to consolidate information, measure impact, and meet indicators.
- Support the identification of needs in the protection of children, girls, and adolescents affected by migration, conflict, and violence.
- Incentivize community participation in project-proposed activities.
- Conduct focalization and registration of participants in activities.
What it takes
- Technical, normalist, technician, or student in the sixth semester of pedagogy, social work, psychology, sociology, human or social sciences, or related fields.
- Availability to reside in Arauca and willingness to travel to other municipalities in the department and other cities in the country as required by projects and national-level actions.
- At least 6 months of professional experience in working with children and adolescents.
- Ability to communicate with children and adolescents from different cultural backgrounds.
- Ability to work in difficult contexts.
- Knowledge of children's rights and related issues.
- Teaching methods for reading and writing.
- Communication skills both oral and written.
