The role
The Mental Health Association of Columbia-Greene Counties Inc. is seeking a full-time Trauma Therapist to provide therapeutic services, crisis intervention, and advocacy at the Child Advocacy Center in Hudson, NY.
What you'll do
- Provide evidence-based, trauma-informed treatment to child victims of abuse and their family members/caregivers
- Deliver crisis intervention services via phone or in person
- Maintain a caseload of 25-30 clients
- Facilitate supportive and educational groups for victims' families and the community
- Assist clients with completing and submitting crime-victim compensation claim applications
- Respond to client-related calls and correspondence
What it takes
- Master’s degree and licensure in a mental health field
- Experienced in specialized trauma-informed mental health services
- Knowledge of sexual assault, child abuse, crisis intervention, and culturally responsive service delivery
- Strong interpersonal, listening, and communication skills
- Proficiency in written communication, public speaking, smartphones, and computer systems
- Understanding of HIPPA privacy laws
