The role
St Giles Trust is seeking a Trauma Caseworker to support vulnerable young people aged 11-25 who have experienced violence at the Royal London Hospital and Community service.
What you'll do
- Provide comprehensive and holistic assessment, advice, referral and support service to young victims of violence
- Develop and maintain relationships with partner agencies
- Produce support and risk management plans based on assessments
- Work closely with clinicians and hospital staff
- Deliver a practical support service including social and housing support, accompanying to appointments, benefits work, debt advice, liaising with utilities, appearing in court, DIY and cleaning
What it takes
- Substantial experience of providing support, advice and advocacy
- Experience of assessing the needs of children and young people who are at risk of significant harm
- Experience of working as part of a multi-agency team
- A good understanding of the communities we support, including barriers certain communities face as well as the drivers of violence and exploitation
- Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building and communication skills, both verbal and written
