The role
The Technical Officer I (Surveillance and RCCE Officer) will support the STRIDES South Sudan Program in strengthening infectious disease surveillance systems, public health emergency preparedness, and outbreak response activities.
What you'll do
- Support the implementation and strengthening of IDSR
- Coordinate EBS, IBS, and CBS activities
- Conduct routine analysis and interpretation of surveillance data
- Support outbreak investigations
- Monitor priority surveillance indicators
- Support the planning, coordination, implementation, and monitoring of preparedness and response activities
What it takes
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Health Informatics, Global Health and Communication / Social Marketing, Health Promotion, International Health or a related field
- At least 5 years of experience in disease surveillance, data management, and field epidemiology
- Experience in training and facilitation
- Experience in conducting preparedness and surveillance assessments
- Proven experience in improving surveillance data quality
- Experience working in a non-governmental organization, Ministry of Health, National Public Health Institutes, UN agencies, and other partners
