The role

The consultant will support the coordination and implementation of sessions for the IX Regional Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction in The Bahamas, focusing on agenda development, session organization, and high-level segment facilitation.

What you'll do

  • Support the review and development of the RP27 agenda
  • Organize high-level segment/Ministerial Meeting, Opening and Closing Ceremonies, and reception as part of RP27
  • Provide guidance on session organization including plenary, parallel, special and side-event sessions
  • Ensure systematic follow-up on the organization of different sessions

What it takes

  • Advanced university degree in social sciences, natural resources management, disaster risk management, or a related field
  • Minimum of five years of progressively responsible professional experience in disaster risk reduction
  • Experience with intergovernmental mechanisms and disaster risk reduction platforms
  • Fluency in English and Spanish
