Teacher in Residence (TiR)
The role
The Teacher in Residence (TiR) program at KIPP New Jersey provides aspiring teachers with hands-on classroom experience while they work toward their state teaching certification. Residents work alongside lead teachers to develop lesson plans, provide small group instruction, and monitor student progress through data collection. The role focuses on building strong community relationships and participating in professional development to foster continuous growth. This position serves as a pathway for individuals passionate about educational equity to transition into full-time teaching roles.
