The role

The Summer Camp Lead Counselor is responsible for supervising and engaging a group of 10 to 12 campers in an outdoor day camp setting. The role involves planning and leading activities such as arts and crafts, sports, and character education while ensuring the safety and well-being of all participants. Counselors act as positive role models, upholding YMCA values and enforcing camp and Department of Health regulations. This seasonal position focuses on building camper confidence, fostering friendships, and teaching new life skills.
