The role
Support the Communications team in developing human-interest stories and written content based on interviews and programme information from Gaza and the West Bank, for use on UN Women’s website and social media platforms.
What you'll do
- Conduct virtual interviews with beneficiaries and partners in Gaza and the West Bank
- Support the development of human-interest stories, profiles and other storytelling content
- Draft and edit communications materials in Arabic and English
- Identify strong story angles, key messages and quotes from interviews and programme information
- Turn interviews and programme information into engaging web and social media content
- Adapt stories into different formats, including website stories, social media posts, captions, quote cards and short video scripts
What it takes
- Background or studies in communications, journalism, media, languages, digital communications or a related field
- Strong writing, editing and storytelling skills in Arabic and English
- Ability to identify interesting stories, key messages and strong quotes
- Interest in interviewing and developing human-interest stories
- Ability to write clear and engaging communications content for different audiences
- Good understanding of social media and how stories can be adapted for different digital platforms
