The role
The SPLC is seeking a State Community Organizer, Georgia State Office (West Georgia) who is passionate about social justice!
What you'll do
- Plan and organize projects and events
- Lead outreach and campaign activities, volunteer activities, mobilization efforts, and advocacy campaigns at local and state levels
- Promote community engagement and collaborate with ally organizations and activists
- Plan for future work by SPLC and in collaboration with other partners
- Compile progress reports and community updates to stakeholders
- Perform research and develop tools and educational materials
What it takes
- Minimum 1 year of community organizing and 1 year working on campaigns and/or advocacy efforts
- High School Diploma or GED
- Demonstrated experience organizing communities, building grassroots networks, and cultivating strong partnerships with community leaders and organizations
- Ability to move people from awareness to action through strategic outreach, leadership development, volunteer engagement, and advocacy campaigns
- Self-starter who thrives with autonomy, takes initiative, and consistently follows through
- Data informed, establishing short- and long-term goals, tracking progress, and continuously improving organizing strategies
