What you'll do
- Coordinate and serve as an on-the-ground immigration attorney for legal clinics and direct legal services across New York State.
- Provide direct limited scope legal services to clients.
- Supervise and conduct final reviews of the direct limited scope legal services provided to clients by Senior/Paralegals.
- Address rapid response needs and support special projects.
- Serve as a legal resource and answer questions from partner organizations, clients, volunteers, and other stakeholders.
What it takes
- Licensed attorney admitted to practice in New York.
- 1 to 3 years of relevant experience representing and working with diverse immigrant communities.
- 1 year of relevant supervision experience, preferably of immigration legal staff.
- Demonstrated commitment to the NYIC’s mission.
- Strong skills in community organizing and community advocacy.
- Attention to detail, particularly in preparing applications and documents.
