The role
The staff accountant will support the Controller as an essential member of the Finance team, responsible for day-to-day activities focused on Accounts Receivable, handling additional accounting tasks as needed.
What you'll do
- Generating invoices in the Yardi accounting system
- Posting daily deposits and applying payments to invoices
- Generating outstanding A/R reports and updating the Controller and CFO on status
- Initiating revenue collection, following up on outstanding A/R issues, and communicating with clients
- Recording and developing tracking methods for other revenue entries
- Supporting additional accounting functions as needed
What it takes
- Minimum 3-5 years of professional accounting experience
- Experience in a not-for-profit or government environment
- Proficiency in the use of accounting software as well as Excel, Word and Outlook
- Strong organizational skills, with an eye for detail and the ability to follow-up independently
- Clear communication skills
