The role

The Sr. Epidemiology and Surveillance Officer will provide technical support, manage staff, and monitor epidemiological surveillance strengthening activities of the DOS-funded STRIDES Activity in Indonesia. They will work with local ministries to develop infectious disease detection strategies and lead planning/implementation for improved surveillance services.

What you'll do

  • Provide technical support for infectious disease detection and surveillance strategies.
  • Manage staff and oversee epidemiology-related activities.
  • Develop training materials, SOPs, and job aids for partners.
  • Coordinate with national ministries to improve data reporting and quality.
  • Draft reports, proposals, and presentations for stakeholders.
  • Monitor project deliverables and ensure alignment with budgets.

What it takes

  • Master's Degree in epidemiology, public health, or related fields.
  • 6+ years of experience in infectious disease control and health analysis.
  • Fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesian.
  • Experience with US government-funded projects preferred.
  • Strong project management and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of multisectoral health approaches.
