The role
The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is seeking a GEDSI Specialist to integrate gender and social inclusion perspectives into the NDC Act & Invest project in Mali. What you'll do
- Develop and implement a comprehensive GEDSI action plan for the project.
- Conduct social and gender impact analyses on environmental taxation proposals.
- Facilitate inclusive consultations with marginalized groups, including women and people with disabilities.
- Integrate gender-sensitive modules into training programs for national stakeholders.
- Draft the final GEDSI report with recommendations for post-project sustainability.
What it takes
- Master's degree or PhD in gender studies, international development, social sciences, or public policy.
- 7-10 years of professional experience in gender and social inclusion, preferably in West Africa.
- Proven track record in analyzing public policies and climate-related fiscal reforms.
- Fluency in French and English (written and spoken) is required.
- Knowledge of international human rights and labor standards (UNGPs, IFC, ILO).
