The role
The Spiritual Nurture of Children Officer will facilitate the execution of the WVUS funded Spiritual Commitments Restoration (SCORE) Project in Busiriba Kahunge ADP, focusing on increasing access to Bibles and spiritual nurture materials, and enhancing church and local actors’ capacity to support community-based spiritual nurture interventions.
What you'll do
- Lead the mobilization and assessments of children, families, churches, and local pastors’ Bible and age-appropriate SNC material needs
- Support the development of local SNC material in partnership with the local churches
- Lead on the procurement and distribution of Bibles and other age-appropriate SNC material
- Support the evaluation of Bible and spiritual nurture material utilization
- Roll out SCORE SNC interventions as stipulated in the results framework and DIPs
- Support the development, procurement and distribution of Bibles and other age-appropriate SNC materials
What it takes
- Bachelor’s Degree in Development Studies, Social Work and Social Administration, Community Development or Divinity/Theology
- At least 4 years experience working with International Development Organizations, Faith-Based and Christian organizations
- A strong Christian with a compelling personal testimony
- Knowledge of WV SNC models
- Skills in child spiritual nurture
- Fluency in English, and some Rwenzori sub-region languages such as Rukiga, Rutooro, Runyole
