The role
The Laboratory and Diagnostics Specialist will provide strategic and technical support for the design, implementation, and monitoring of STRIDES activities in Senegal. This role will work closely with national and regional authorities to strengthen laboratory capabilities and diagnostic systems.
What you'll do
- Support implementation of disease prevention, detection, and response activities according to the STRIDES work plan in Senegal.
- Provide technical support for laboratory and diagnostic services at national and sub-national levels.
- Collaborate with national, regional, and local counterparts to achieve project objectives related to laboratory capacity strengthening.
- Contribute to the development of technical reports and documents.
- Support the integration of new technologies and methodologies in diagnostics.
- Ensure compliance with project plans and budgets.
What it takes
- Master's degree in microbiology, veterinary laboratory animal science (MLAS), or equivalent international biological sciences degree.
- Experience in infectious disease diagnosis and/or laboratory system strengthening.
- Experience working on USAID-funded projects.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication skills in English and French.
