The role
The Senior Technical Officer, PMTCT provides technical leadership and strategic oversight for the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of Prevention of Mother-to-Child Transmission (PMTCT), HIV-Exposed Infants (HEI) and pediatric HIV, and Cervical Cancer services.
What you'll do
- Provides strategic technical leadership and oversight for the planning, implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of PMTCT and CECAP interventions.
- Provides technical guidance and support to regional teams on implementation of Triple Elimination interventions.
- Strengthens referral and linkage systems across the PMTCT and cervical cancer continuum of care.
- Monitors key PMTCT and CECAP indicators and ensures timely tracking of targets, coverage, service quality, and outcomes.
- Prepares technical reports, program updates, and success stories.
- Supports the development, implementation, and review of annual work plans, program priorities, budgets, and technical strategies.
What it takes
- Degree or Advanced diploma in Medicine, Nursing, or another health-related field
- Minimum of six (6) years of progressive experience in PMTCT, Pediatric HIV, Maternal and Child Health (MNCH), and/or HIV prevention, care, and treatment programs
- Proven experience working with MOH, R/CHMT, health facility teams, and implementing partners
- Fluency in English and Kiswahili
- Strong leadership, team management, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Demonstrated project management skills
