The role
The Senior Programme Management Officer will develop, implement and evaluate assigned programmes/projects related to the prevention of violent extremism or support to victims of terrorism.
What you'll do
- Develop, implement and evaluate assigned programmes/projects
- Direct subordinates in programme/project development, implementation, monitoring and assessment
- Ensure the implementation of gender mainstreaming guidelines
- Coordinate policy development related to prevention of violent extremism or support to victims of terrorism
- Undertake survey initiatives and prepare evaluations or research activities
- Supervise preparation of various written outputs
What it takes
- Advanced university degree in business administration, management, economics, or a related field
- Minimum ten years of progressively responsible experience in project or programme management
- Experience delivering programming on the prevention of violent extremism in a multilateral or international organization
- Experience with interagency coordination and supporting intergovernmental processes at the United Nations or in another international organization is desirable
- UN Language Framework Level II proficiency in English (reading, writing, listening, speaking)
- Demonstrated ability to provide innovative technical leadership
