The role
The position is located in the Project Management Team and involves providing full range of programme/project management and implementation assistance for a large and highly complex component of departmental programme/project initiatives.
What you'll do
- Independently provides full range of programme/project management and implementation assistance at all phases of the programme/project cycle for a large and highly complex component of departmental programme/project initiatives.
- Researches, compiles, analyses, summarizes, and presents basic information/data on wide range of programmes/projects, science, technology and innovation and related topics.
- Tracks resolutions and other legislative decisions that affect programme/project content and oversees the preparation of relevant database(s) to ensure the incorporation of programmatic and other changes enacted by legislation.
- Reviews, appraises and revises all submissions for substantive programmes/projects, ensuring compliance with guidelines and programme/project objectives; identifies problems/issues, seeks clarification from departments, assess replies, and prepares a summary for the manager with suggestions for further action.
What it takes
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- A certification in PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner is desirable.
- Relevant training in administration, human resources management or related area is desirable.
- A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in programme or project administration, technical cooperation across international contexts or related area is required.
- Experience working with an Enterprise Resources Planning system, such as Umoja or a similar system, is required.
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience working in the United Nations Common System or similar international organization is desirable.
