The role

The Gates Foundation is seeking a Senior Program Officer, Drug-Devices CMC to manage a portfolio of India-focused investments to ensure quality, manufacturability, regulatory readiness, and affordability of priority drugs, devices, and drug-device combination products.

What you'll do

  • Design, structure, and manage critical grants and contracts for drug, device, and drug-device combination product development
  • Identify and select partner institutions and shape scope and strategy for selected grants and contracts
  • Apply milestone-based performance metrics and help with go/no-go decision-making
  • Provide technical and strategic support to grantees and contractors
  • Collaborate closely with foundation teams in Seattle and ICO
  • Manage technology transfer and manufacturing scale-up through CMO/CDMO partnerships

What it takes

  • Master’s or PhD in Science or Engineering or related fields
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience within a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or medical device company
  • Direct product experience in women’s health and/or maternal, neonatal, and child health
  • Proven ability to manage technology transfer and manufacturing scale-up
  • Experience in evaluating and optimizing COGS models
  • Advanced portfolio and program management skills
