The role

The Gates Foundation is seeking a Senior Program Officer- Country Support to lead polio strategy and portfolio in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) with full accountability for performance, partner alignment, and impact.

What you'll do

  • Lead the Foundation’s polio strategy and portfolio in DRC
  • Develop and execute integrated strategies to interrupt poliovirus transmission
  • Serve as the Foundation’s primary polio lead in-country, managing a complex ecosystem of government, partners, and grantees
  • Use epidemiological and program data to identify risks and gaps, and drive timely, data-informed course correction
  • Drive accountability across partners and government counterparts by setting clear expectations, addressing underperformance, and ensuring follow-through

  • Significant experience in polio eradication/outbreaks response/vaccine delivery/health emergencies programs in low- and middle-income countries
