The role
The Gates Foundation is seeking a Senior Program Officer- Country Support to lead polio strategy and portfolio in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) with full accountability for performance, partner alignment, and impact.
What you'll do
- Lead the Foundation’s polio strategy and portfolio in DRC
- Develop and execute integrated strategies to interrupt poliovirus transmission
- Serve as the Foundation’s primary polio lead in-country, managing a complex ecosystem of government, partners, and grantees
- Use epidemiological and program data to identify risks and gaps, and drive timely, data-informed course correction
- Drive accountability across partners and government counterparts by setting clear expectations, addressing underperformance, and ensuring follow-through

- Advanced degree in health, public health, epidemiology or vaccinology
- Significant experience in polio eradication/outbreaks response/vaccine delivery/health emergencies programs in low- and middle-income countries
- Demonstrated ability to work with diverse stakeholders and teams
