The role
One Acre Fund is seeking a strategic commercial leader to define and lead the organization's market access strategy and portfolio in Tanzania, focusing on cashew and avocado value chains.
What you'll do
- Define and lead the multi-year strategy across priority value chains
- Evaluate and recommend value chains for investment, partnership, pilot, or scale
- Develop commercially sound models for aggregation, processing, and export
- Lead the identification, diligence, negotiation, and contract structuring with strategic partners
- Set performance targets and hold the specialist, coordinator, and supervisor layer accountable for field results
- Represent OAF Tanzania externally with buyers, processors, SMEs, government stakeholders, donors, and strategic industry partners
What it takes
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in business, economics, agribusiness, agriculture, supply chain, or a related field
- At least 5 years of experience in agribusiness, market access, value chain development, or commercial agriculture
- Strong commercial instincts and numerical fluency
- Ability to operate at multiple levels, from strategy to operational detail
- Practical understanding of value chains and experience negotiating and managing external partners
- Experience in leading teams and driving strategy through to execution
