The role

The incumbent will be responsible for undertaking or coordinating investigations of potential violations of Agency rules, regulations, policies, procedures and standards, including sexual exploitation and abuse, fraud and corruption, breaches of neutrality, and other misconduct throughout the Agency.

What you'll do

  • Undertakes or coordinates investigations of potential violations of Agency rules, regulations, policies, procedures and standards
  • Reviews and assesses complaints and allegations
  • Conducts interviews of staff and other involved parties
  • Prepares reports and ad hoc briefs pertaining to investigations
  • Provides advice on best-practice with respect to investigations
  • Supports investigations carried out by Field Offices and HQ Departments

What it takes

  • Advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in law or any other related field
  • A minimum of seven years of progressively responsible relevant experience applying internationally recognized investigation techniques in criminal or administrative inquiries
  • A Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) or any formal investigation training is required
  • English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat, with English required and Arabic desirable
  • Demonstrated experience in planning and organizing, applying technical expertise, adapting and responding to change, delivering results, creating and maintaining impact and partnerships
  • Experience in working with international organizations and a commitment to the UN Core Values of Integrity, Professionalism, and Respect for Diversity
