The role
UNRWA is seeking a Senior HR Officer (Payroll) to lead and oversee end-to-end agency-wide payroll operations, including automation and systems integration. The incumbent will serve as the primary liaison between HR, Finance, and IT departments to ensure accuracy, compliance, and effective process management. This role involves designing and implementing payroll frameworks and supervising personnel to maintain operational excellence across all staff categories.
What you'll do
- Lead end-to-end management of Agency-wide payroll operations and compliance.
- Design and implement payroll system automations and digital transformation projects.
- Coordinate between HR, Finance, and DITID to resolve system and operational issues.
- Perform quality assurance and user acceptance testing for payroll system enhancements.
- Maintain standard operating procedures and payroll-related financial reporting.
What it takes
- Advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in MIS, accounting, business administration, or computer science.
- At least seven years of progressively responsible experience in HR operations and payroll management.
- Proven experience in payroll systems development and workflow automation.
- Proficiency in English (UN Level III).
- Current residency in Amman with valid authorization to work in the duty station.
