The role
The Senior EU Policy Engagement Expert will contribute to UNEP FI’s strategic engagement with EU policymakers, regulators, and financial institutions to advance the bankability and financing of the transition to a sustainable, competitive, and inclusive European economy.
What you'll do
- Design and implement a structured value proposition for banks’ engagement in EU sectoral policy processes
- Contribute to aligning EU industrial policy with financial sector practices and investment capabilities
- Facilitate the development of outputs including sectoral policy briefs, engagement toolkits, and practical guidance
- Coordinate and facilitate multi-stakeholder dialogues to strengthen policy–finance alignment
- Develop a compendium of innovative financial solutions supporting industrial decarbonization and circular economy investments
What it takes
- A master’s degree in finance, law, economics, business administration, international relations
- At least ten (10) years of professional experience in investment and/or lending activities
- Experience in the banking sector, including experience in a European policy and banking setting
- Fluency in English, knowledge of Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish or other United Nations languages is an asset
- Professional network among relevant financial sector regulators, policy makers, investors
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills and good public speaking
