The role

GiveWell is seeking a Senior Cross-Cutting Researcher to help shape research agendas that cut across the organization's grantmaking portfolios and answer complex questions that inform grantmaking decisions.

What you'll do

  • Shape ambitious research agendas that cut across GiveWell's portfolios
  • Partner with grantmaking teams to pressure-test and extend their work
  • Communicate externally about your work and mentor and advise other researchers on the team
  • Answer complex questions that affect the organization's grantmaking
  • Design M&E systems that tell us whether grants are working
  • Use AI tools to speed up or increase the quality of research

  • Quantitatively oriented advanced degree or substantial relevant experience
  • Substantial relevant experience using empirical tools to make rigorous, evidence-based decisions
