The role
UNRWA is seeking a Senior Contributions Officer based in Amman to plan, develop, and manage the operations of the Contributions team. The incumbent will oversee data analytics on donor contributions, prepare financial reports, and maintain accurate records while ensuring compliance with donor requirements. The role involves close collaboration with the Finance Department and acting as a focal point for internal and external audit requests. This position is open to internal candidates only.
What you'll do
- Manage the preparation and maintenance of accurate records for donor contributions.
- Oversee data analytics and preparation of tailored reports for internal and external audiences.
- Coordinate with the Finance Department to ensure accurate recording and reconciliation of contributions.
- Plan and manage month-end and year-end closure activities.
- Serve as the Financial Tracking Service (FTS) focal point and liaison for audit requests.
What it takes
- Advanced university degree in business administration, information technology, or a related field.
- At least seven years of experience in finance, bookkeeping, or accountancy, including three years at a senior level.
- Proficiency in ERP systems, MS-Access, Excel, and Word.
- Fluency in both English and Arabic (UN Level III).
- Prior experience with a UN organization, NGO, or donor government is desirable.
