The role

The Senior Community-Based Protection Assistant role involves working directly with communities of concern to identify risks and leverage their capacities for self-protection. The position requires significant field work to build relationships with persons of concern (PoC) and support the implementation of community-based protection standards. It focuses on ensuring that protection planning is inclusive and based on consultation with local populations.

What you'll do

  • Integrate participatory and community-based approaches into the overall protection strategy.
  • Advise the protection team on risks and needs of various groups (women, children, youth, etc.) based on field data.
  • Support local communities to develop community-owned activities for social, educational, and health concerns.
  • Collect data for monitoring programs and budgets from an AGD perspective.
  • Act as an interpreter and respond to routine queries while maintaining documentation systems.
  • Ensure compliance of implementing partners with global protection policies.

What it takes

  • Minimum 2 years experience with a High School Diploma or 1 year with a Bachelor's degree.
  • Fluency in English, Russian, and Romanian languages.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, organization, and drafting skills.
  • Experience in community and/or social work.
  • Knowledge of UN/UNHCR Administrative Rules, Regulations and Procedures.
  • Moldovan citizenship or legal status to work in Moldova.
