Aspire Living & Learning is seeking a Senior Behavior Therapist to work in Naugatuck, CT, providing services to children with social, behavioral, and academic needs. The role involves implementing educational and behavioral programs under the guidance of Special Education Teachers and Board-Certified Behavior Analysts.
What you'll do
- Implement each student’s educational and behavioral programs
- Collaborate with service providers
- Support students during academic, related service, and behavioral programming
- Monitor and work with students during indoor/outdoor physical activities
- Perform Physical Management Techniques (PMT) as needed
- Handle physical aspects of the job, including bending, stooping, lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching, and walking
What it takes
- At least 3 months of exemplary performance as a Behavior Therapist with Aspire or 12 months with another ABA provider
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field (e.g., Psychology, Special Education)
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
- 1 year experience with individuals with Autism, intellectual disabilities, or other social/behavioral needs
- 1 year experience in implementing and collecting data related to areas such as School-Wide PBS, Tier Plans, Direct Instruction, Precision Teaching, or other behavior analytic measures
- Satisfactory background checks and valid driver’s license with a safe driving record
