The role
The Senior Accountant at UTEC Inc. is responsible for managing complex accounting activities, leading the monthly and annual close, and supporting various financial processes.
What you'll do
- Lead assigned components of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close
- Own designated complex balance-sheet reconciliations
- Prepare and review selected journal entries and supporting documentation
- Support analysis of monthly financial statements and unusual account activity
- Review and approve accounts payable entries for accuracy, documentation, coding, and compliance
- Maintain fixed asset records, reconciliations, depreciation, disposals, and supporting documentation
What it takes
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent directly relevant experience
- At least four years of progressively responsible accounting experience
- Experience with monthly close, complex reconciliations, journal entries, revenue accounting, accounts payable, treasury support, payroll processing, fixed assets, and audit support
- Strong Excel skills and experience with Sage Intacct or a similar accounting system
- Ability to independently research discrepancies and bring issues through resolution
- Strong judgment, organization, communication, attention to detail, and follow through
