The role
The incumbent will participate in the conduct of security-related investigations and support the implementation of investigative activities aimed at establishing facts, preserving evidence, and ensuring accountability in matters affecting the safety and security of United Nations personnel, assets and operations in the field mission.
What you'll do
- Supports the Chief Security Officer/ or Deputy Chief Security Officer in the management and coordination of investigative activities within the Security Section
- Conducts and coordinates investigations into security incidents, allegations of misconduct and other matters requiring fact-finding inquiries, and prepares reports and recommendations
- Collects, preserves and analyses documentary, physical and testimonial evidence in accordance with established procedures and standards
- Conducts interviews and maintains effective liaison with host-country authorities, law enforcement agencies, UN entities and other relevant stakeholders
- Provides timely briefings and recommendations to the Chief Security Officer on investigative findings and emerging issues

- Certificate on Criminal Investigation is required
- Formal Training on Leadership and Management is required
- A minimum of ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience in security management, security operations and investigations, acquired within the United Nations Security Management System and internationally recognized civilian and military environments, is required
