The role
The incumbent will lead the department's efforts in analysis and forecasting, support governance efforts, and manage the Security Information Management System (SIMS) functionality review and enhancement. They will also supervise the integration of Geographic Information System (GIS) and analysis methodology as a risk management tool at the Agency Level.

- Keeps aware of all aspects of security information which could potentially affect the security of UNRWA personnel, assets and operations
- Identifies and coordinates security information requirements, development of trend analysis
- Manages the Security Information Management System (SIMS) functionality review and enhancement
- Supervises the integration of Geographic Information System (GIS) and analysis methodology as a risk management tool
- Provides support in developing and implementing strategies, objectives, standards as well as planning initiatives and managing specific projects
- Travels in the Agency's area of operations
What it takes
- Advanced university degree in Political or Social Science, International Relations, Statistics or related field
- Minimum of five years of progressively responsible and relevant work experience in applied political or security analysis and research
- Experience in security management, peacekeeping operations, military, police, national intelligence or other international organization
- Fluency in English and French
- Ability to analyze and forecast security information
- Experience in managing Security Information Management System (SIMS)
