The role

The Danish Refugee Council is seeking a highly qualified Responsible for Humanitarian Access and Security to lead the definition and implementation of the humanitarian access strategy and the Security Risk Management System (SRMS) in the mission, ensuring the safe and effective execution of programs and the duty of care towards staff.

What you'll do

  • Act as the main point of contact for coordination of access and security and information exchange with national, regional, and local authorities.
  • Participate in the development, updating, and operationalization of the humanitarian access strategy.
  • Ensure the safe and effective execution of programs and the duty of care towards staff.
  • Manage access authorizations, notifications, and procedures for field missions, evaluations, and distributions.
  • Conduct security risk assessments for new areas of intervention, including areas affected by the earthquakes.

What it takes

  • At least a Master's degree in social sciences (international humanitarian law, international relations, political science) or a relevant field; a bachelor's degree with additional demonstrated experience may be considered.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a responsible for access and security in international non-governmental organizations.
  • Experience in managing access in volatile and complex areas and in critical incident management.
  • Experience in designing, implementing, and updating security risk management systems (context analysis, risk assessments, SOPs, and contingency plans).
  • Experience in emergency response, with demonstrated ability to establish access and security procedures in new and rapidly evolving operations.
  • Experience working with local partners and in supporting their access and security management.
