The role
WellPower is seeking Residential Counselors to provide direct behavioral health support within a multi-disciplinary team setting. The role involves facilitating group therapy, assisting consumers with activities of daily living, and managing intakes, discharges, and medication monitoring. Successful candidates will maintain a safe, trauma-informed environment while advocating for individuals with severe and persistent mental illness. This position requires hands-on care and the ability to respond effectively to building and consumer emergencies.
What you'll do
- Provide supportive counseling and facilitate group therapy sessions.
- Train and assist consumers with activities of daily living (ADLs).
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation, including daily logs and medication records.
- Coordinate clinical care with case management and multi-disciplinary teams.
- Respond to building and consumer emergencies according to safety protocols.
What it takes
- Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or related field (RCII requirement).
- One year of mental health experience preferred.
- QMAP, CPR, and First Aid certifications.
- Ability to work awake overnight shifts (8pm-8am) on Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday.
- Physical ability to lift 30 pounds and assist with household tasks.
