The role

The Resident Coordinator (RC) is the highest-ranking representative of the United Nations development system at the country level, responsible for leading UN country teams and ensuring system-wide accountability on the ground.

What you'll do

  • Represent the United Nations at highest-levels of state and foster engagement with Government, civil society, bilateral and multilateral partners
  • Lead the UN country team in development, monitoring, and reporting on the UN Cooperation Framework
  • Coordinate UN system-wide support to government and identify risks to SDGs
  • Promote and advocate for the fundamental values, standards, and principles of the UN Charter

What it takes

  • Minimum 15 years of substantive experience in leadership roles at international level
  • Previous RC experience is desirable
  • Experience as a senior official with accountability for security or previous experience in security decision-making in complex environment is desirable
  • Excellent judgement and strong diplomatic skills are desirable
