The role
The IDB Group is seeking a Lead Specialist or Senior Specialist to lead the Research Department and contribute to the development of economic research and policy recommendations for Latin America and the Caribbean.
What you'll do
- Provide leadership and direction to the department’s research agenda
- Coordinate and conduct economic research
- Lead and contribute to the development of new or revised tools and methodologies of economic analysis
- Coordinate and contribute to the preparation of economic analysis and policy advice for senior management
- Develop networks for disseminating research findings
- Coordinate and review and evaluate the academic work of outside researchers
What it takes
- Masters degree (or equivalent advanced degree) in economics or other relevant fields
- At least 5 years of relevant professional experience
- Publication record commensurate with experience
- Proficiency in English and one of the other Bank official languages (Spanish, French or Portuguese)
- Citizenship of one of the 48-member countries of the IDB Group
- No family members working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab
