The role

The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is seeking a Research Consultant to provide analytical, research, and coordination support for the implementation of the Sustainable Business Action (SBA) tool in Guatemala. The role involves data mapping, technical documentation, and supporting high-level government engagement. This 4-month consultancy focuses on sustainable public finance and economic policy.

What you'll do

  • Provide analytical, research, and coordination support for SBA implementation
  • Map and organize relevant data sources related to SBA
  • Prepare technical inputs and background notes for government engagement
  • Support the preparation and delivery of a South-South exchange event
  • Document training sessions and stakeholder engagement processes

What it takes

  • Bachelor's degree in Economics or Public Policy
  • At least 3 years of experience in environmental economics or sustainable finance
  • Experience working with government institutions, preferably in Latin America
  • Proven experience in data analysis
  • Fluent Spanish and knowledge of English
  • Knowledge of Guatemalan public finance is an asset
