The role
The Archipelagos Institute of Marine Conservation is seeking a Research Assistant to support marine ecology fieldwork, surveys, and conservation projects on the islands of Samos and Lipsi in Greece.
What you'll do
- Coordinate daily marine ecology fieldwork and surveys.
- Lead and mentor students and field researchers.
- Ensure high standards of scientific data collection and quality control.
- Contribute to habitat restoration projects, including Posidonia seagrass restoration.
- Assist with GIS analysis, data management, statistical analysis and scientific reporting.
- Contribute to scientific publications and funding proposals.
What it takes
- MSc in Marine Biology, Marine Ecology, Environmental Sciences or a related discipline
- Previous ecological field research experience
- Advance Open Water licence at least
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Scientific writing experience
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams
