The role
Anthropic is seeking a Regulatory Counsel to lead legal work on AI regulation in the United States and support their global AI regulatory posture.
What you'll do
- Serve as one of Anthropic's lead in-house regulatory counsel for US AI regulation
- Own US regulatory compliance deliverables end to end
- Track legislative, regulatory, and standards developments across US federal and state jurisdictions
- Counsel legal, compliance, safety, security, and business teams on day-to-day regulatory questions
- Support Anthropic's engagement with US AI regulators, enforcement agencies, and standards bodies
- Contribute to Anthropic's global frontier AI regulatory work
What it takes
- JD from an accredited law school and active membership in at least one US state bar
- Hands-on experience advising a technology business on emerging regulatory regimes
- Experience engaging with regulators, enforcement agencies, or standards bodies in a non-contentious supervisory capacity
- Experience drafting regulatory compliance deliverables
- Ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly to technical, policy, product, and business audiences
- Experience with frontier AI regulatory regimes
