The role
Catholic Charities of Baltimore is seeking a Part Time Registered Nurse to provide nursing care as needed within the Family Services Division. Uses the nursing process to assess, plan, intervene and evaluate children in care with emotional and behavioral difficulties. Provides first aid for staff, volunteers, and visitors.
What you'll do
- Performs all duties utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Administers medications and treatments in accordance with evidence based best practices and team plans.
- Assesses health and provides clinical nursing care.
- Assists the pediatrician in physical assessments and medical reviews.
- Triages and assesses level of need for clients, staff, volunteers and visitors in routine, urgent and emergency situations.
- Provides required TB screening or testing and designated immunizations.
What it takes
- Registered Nurse in good standing with Maryland Board of Nursing.
- Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) and CARE within six (6) months of hire and maintained thereafter.
- Adult and Pediatric CPR within one month of hire and maintained thereafter.
- Knowledge of nursing practices include first aid, medication administration protocols, CPR, and infection control protocols.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medications and normal growth and development among children ages 3-15 and adults.
- Knowledge of MD State and CDC guidelines/mandates for immunization.
