The role
The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is seeking a Regional Humanitarian Access and Safety Adviser for Latin America to develop, evaluate, and monitor NRC’s regional security risk management approach.
What you'll do
- Promote and stimulate a culture of enabling a safe and principled humanitarian response
- Ensure quality recruitment, induction, guidance, support, mentoring, capacity building, and development of HAS staff
- Maintain a detailed understanding of the context within the region, including analysis and forecasting
- Provide technical review of HAS management documents
- Technically support the development and implementation of access strategies across the region

- Minimum five years of experience from working as a manager in a humanitarian/recovery context
- Advanced knowledge of principles and practices in broad humanitarian action, NGO safety and risk management, humanitarian access, and civil-military coordination
- Strong understanding of Humanitarian Principles and their application in programmatic and advocacy responses
- Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
- Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
- Fluency in English and Spanish, both written and verbal
