The role
The International Rescue Committee (IRC) Deutschland is seeking a Referent*in Schutz & Teilhabe (Schwerpunkt Elterngruppen) in Berlin for a part-time or full-time position (32-40 hours/week) initially until October 2028.
What you'll do
- Engaging and addressing parents with refugee or migration experience for parent groups and other project offerings
- Planning, organizing, and conducting parent groups (at least 8 sessions per group) in German, considering easier language
- Promoting regular and active participation of participants and ensuring their connection to the targeted project group
- Supporting the establishment and maintenance of a local network
- Participating in regional networking and exchange meetings, and developing project materials such as best practice brochures and video clips
- Contributing to reporting and documenting project results, best practices, and learning experiences
What it takes
- Several years of experience working with families with refugee or migration experience, ideally in project implementation
- Education in pedagogy, social work, psychology, etc. is advantageous
- Personal or family migration experience is desirable
- Experience in planning and conducting workshops and the creation of so-called safe spaces (presence & digital)
- High sensitivity to diversity, multilingualism, and migration-related topics
- Good local networking, especially in migrant communities
