The role

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking a RCCE Specialist to support the response to the Ebola outbreak in Ituri and North Kivu, focusing on community engagement and risk communication activities.

What you'll do

  • Act as the focal point for RCCE activities within IRC mobile teams
  • Support RCCE evaluations and mapping of stakeholders
  • Conduct targeted community consultations and adapt messages accordingly
  • Plan and conduct targeted community awareness sessions
  • Prepare and submit weekly activity reports to the RCCE Manager

What it takes

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Health Promotion, Social and Behavioral Sciences, Communication, Social Work, Psychology, Anthropology, Sociology, Education, or a related field
  • At least 2 years of professional experience in risk communication and community engagement
  • Experience working with vulnerable populations
  • Experience in an emergency setting
  • Fluency in French and local languages of Ituri; English is an advantage
  • Strong report writing and organizational skills
