The role
Second Tree is seeking English teachers for a minimum commitment of 10 weeks to deliver English classes to refugees and asylum seekers in the Epirus region of Northern Greece.
What you'll do
- Planning and delivering lessons for classes ranging from A0 to B2
- Preparing class materials and assessments
- Empowering students with interpersonal and life skills
- Completing various administrative tasks such as tracking attendance and communicating class updates to students
- Ensuring student engagement and progress
- Working closely with the Education Manager to ensure the program is being delivered to the expected standards
What it takes
- Degree in teaching and/or a certification in English language teaching (TEFL/TESOL/CELTA or equivalent)
- Experience working in the refugee context
- Experience teaching low-level literacy students
- Ability to communicate in an open, honest, direct manner
- Dependable, willing to adapt when necessary
- Willing to enforce strict classroom management
