The role
The Publications Data Management Intern will work with the Project Manager on keeping the MSF Science Portal updated regularly, implementing data quality improvements, and supporting other discrete projects.
What you'll do
- Create a weekly list of new MSF-authored publications based on reviewing PubMed, Google Scholar alerts, and other data sources
- Enter journal publications and conference materials into the Science Portal database using the content management system
- Support the Portal team in improving data cleanliness, requiring direct queries to the database and updating data using SQL (Microsoft SQL Server)
- Support with optimizing workflow monitoring and efficiency, and project management
What it takes
- Current or recent graduate of a Master’s level or higher program in public health or library sciences
- Experience with or keen interest in project and data management
- Experience with scientific/medical publications
- Experience with relational databases
- Experience working with published medical literature and scientific journals
