The role

The Project Specialist on Investable Nature Project Pipeline will lead in the construction of private sector-related pipeline for investable projects to finance nature under UNDP's Global BIOFIN team.

What you'll do

  • Develop standardized investment frameworks for four pilot countries
  • Conduct trainings on project pipeline design
  • Provide technical support and quality assurance for project sourcing, pre-feasibility analysis, financial structuring, and revenue stream design
  • Support national enabling environment studies in two pilot countries
  • Analyze investment gaps and risks related to private capital investment in nature finance
  • Design the initial concept of a global investment matchmaking platform

What it takes

  • Advanced university degree (Master’s) or equivalent in Management, Finance, Economics or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant professional work experience in finance sector, development banks, private equity, impact investment with linkage to environment, nature, climate, or sustainable finance
  • Experience managing relationships with the private sector and different types of investors and financiers including social and/or environmental impact investors
  • Experience developing pipeline of bankable projects in developing countries
  • Experience setting up multi-partner / blended finance facilities/transactions is desirable
